The proclamation, presented by Mayor Wayne M. Messam and passionately supported by Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne, served as a heartfelt tribute to the diverse histories, remarkable achievements, and enduring influence of AAPI individuals throughout the city. With a population exceeding 13,600 Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander residents, Miramar’s declaration not only represented a symbolic gesture of inclusion but also reaffirmed the city’s deep commitment to honoring and promoting diversity within its community.

During the presentation, Asiana Post was honored to take the stage alongside community member Ren Xu, as the proclamation was read aloud. This moment highlighted a collective appreciation for the myriad individuals who have played pivotal roles in shaping the city’s evolving identity through civic engagement, entrepreneurial initiatives, cultural expression, and community leadership.
