Galaxycon

Glaxycon - Animate! Miami

Mike Broder founded GalaxyCon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2006, for fans, by fans. As part of its fandom celebrations, the company organizes pop culture, anime, and horror events across the country.

As this event was less structured and formal than Supercon, but more community-oriented, we were intrigued by it. Our group had the pleasure of interviewing three Asians who were gracious enough to make time out of their busy schedules for the interview.

They expressed great satisfaction with the event and spoke highly of it. As compared to Supercon, we did not notice a large number of Asians attending. We were nevertheless impressed by the cleanliness, organization, and friendliness of the staff.

GalaxyCon is an expansive festival dedicated to celebrating a diverse array of fandoms, drawing together fans from all walks of life. The event features a dynamic lineup of celebrities, including beloved actors, iconic artists, talented writers, renowned voice actors, creative cosplayers, and even popular wrestlers.

What sets GalaxyCon apart from traditional comic conventions is its emphasis on community and interaction; many attendees remark that it’s a vibrant celebration of culture and creativity rather than just a typical comic con. The festival offers a blend of in-person and virtual events, making it accessible to fans everywhere, regardless of location.

With engaging panels, interactive workshops, and numerous opportunities for fan meet-and-greets, GalaxyCon strives to create a welcoming environment. Many families find it to be a family-friendly event, perfect for fans of all ages who share a passion for pop culture and the arts. Whether attending in person or joining online, participants can immerse themselves in their favorite fandoms and connect with others who share their interests.
